Peach Fuzz, Pantone Colour of the Year 2024

Punctual as every year, the prestigious Pantone Colour Institute has announced the colour of the year 2024. After Viva Magenta in 2023, the new year crowns Peach Fuzz with code 13-1023, a shade somewhere between pink and orange.

Seeking a shade that echoes our innate desire for closeness and connection, we chose a colour that radiates warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace and effortlessly unites youthfulness with timelessness,” thus the motivations of Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the institute.

The presentation of PANTONE Peach Fuzz 13-1023 also marks the 25th anniversary of the ‘Colour of the Year’ programme. In 1999, the colour of the year was declared for the first time, namely ‘Cerulean Blue‘, an intense and lively blue that represented the spirit and mood of the new millennium.

This colour became particularly well known thanks to the film ‘The Devil Wears Prada’, in which the character of Miranda Priestly (a stunning Meryl Streep) explains to an unsuspecting Andy Sachs (played by Anne Hathaway) how the blue she is actually wearing is a shade of cerulean blue. “It’s not just blue, it’s not turquoise, it’s not lapis lazuli, it’s actually cerulean!”

Over the years, the Pantone Colour of the Year has become a true global phenomenon, capable of capturing and expressing the essence of a period, an attitude and a collective sensibility. This event has become an inescapable reference point in contemporary culture, allowing the events of our time to be analysed and interpreted through a universal language: colour.

Like every year, the Peach Fuzz will have the power to influence the world of fashion, cosmetics, packaging, multimedia design and of course interior design.

More than 10 million designers and creative people in every corner of the globe rely on Pantone’s products and services to define, communicate and control colours at every stage of the creative process. The enveloping and cosy power of this particularly warm shade will find its fullest expression in interior design, resulting in rooms that exude warmth and comfort.

Its extraordinary flexibility is an added value, allowing for creative and versatile use to suit different preferences and styles. So, if you want to add a touch of warmth and cosiness to your spaces, there is no doubt that this shade will be the right choice!
