Smile House ETS the Italian Foundation

Smile House ETS is an Italian Foundation that cares for children and young adults born with cranio-maxillo-facial malformations, ensuring not only surgical interventions but also all necessary specialized medical treatments until the end of their psychophysical development. The Foundation’s commitment aims to provide each patient with an individual care path through a multidisciplinary approach that allows for complete social integration at the end of treatment. By training surgeons, physicians, and healthcare professionals, it ensures the necessary continuity of care over time. Additionally, Smile House Foundation ETS develops clinical research projects related to the pathologies addressed by their treatments. The Smile House Project originated from an agreement with the Italian Ministry of Health and is realized through partnerships between Smile House Foundation ETS and certain public facilities of the Italian National Health Service, aiming to integrate multidisciplinary diagnostic and therapeutic pathways by establishing Centers of Excellence called Smile House. These centers take charge of patients, conduct research projects, and train involved healthcare personnel, thus creating a nationally interconnected network of high professional and qualitative standards. The Smile House Project adopts a multidisciplinary approach involving specialists such as surgeons, orthodontists, speech therapists, psychologists, ENT specialists, and geneticists. Smile House Centers are located in 8 Italian cities: Rome, Vicenza, Ancona, Cagliari, Catania, Taranto, Pisa, and Monza, but the Foundation is not only present in Italy. It has indeed signed collaboration agreements with other entities worldwide, sharing medical-scientific know-how, human, and financial resources to promote the Smile House model even in low-income countries with the aim of making them self-sufficient. Specifically, through programs like Smile House International (SHINT) active in Pakistan, thanks to the Memorandum of Understanding with the Cleft Lip and Palate Association, and the Smile House International Training Program (SHITP) active in Hyderabad, India, thanks to the Memorandum of Understanding with the GRS Institute of Craniofacial Surgery, the Foundation supports entities operating similarly to the Smile House model and establishes international Centers of Excellence where intensive training programs can be conducted for all disciplines involved in the multidisciplinary diagnostic and therapeutic pathway of the Smile House Project. Supporting Smile House Foundation ETS through bank transfer to Smile House Fondazione ETS IBAN: IT 56 J 01030 03201 000004000007 or via Credit Card, PayPal, or Satispay on the Foundation’s website at the link: www.smilehousefoundation.org.
